What you can do about cellulite

The problem of dimpled, lumpy skin is very common in both females and males so I’m going to help you with what you can do about cellulite.

So let’s have a brief look at what cellulite is and what causes it. Cellulite gives your skin a dimpled and lumpy appearance. Doesn’t look great but it’s nothing to be afraid of, just a build up of fatty deposits sitting underneath the skin’s surface.

Usually more prevalent around the thighs and abdominal areas as this is where most people store excess fat.

There are many factors contributing to cellulite and it’s not just your weight. Your genetic makeup can make you pre-disposed to it, your body fat percentage, your age, diet and activity level.

Looking at what you can do about cellulite, the great thing is that mother nature helps us a lot.

A diet filled with fresh vegetables, 2 pieces of fruit per day and plenty of purified water will keep your internals clean and toxins flushed out. It’s like swallowing a big scrub brush, only much tastier.

It’s ok to indulge a little occasionally because when your diet consists primarily of fresh food, it helps to wash away any build up from the not so good foods and keeps your weight down. Most vegetables are very low in calories and high in fibre. So the less trans fatty and animal fats you consume, the less fatty build up in your system.

Keeping active is the next step to what you can do about cellulite. Our bodies are designed to move, so include stretching as part of your regular active routine. Not only is this great to improve circulation and blood flow but also firms up the muscles and skin.

Lunging is a great exercise and stretch combined into one. Add in some walking and you are set. If you’re not used to exercise, start with as little as half an hour per day. Even if you break it up in smaller increments like 10 minutes 3 times per day. Then work towards increasing it as you get stronger.

When people ask me what you can do about cellulite, I also get asked about products which can help. The good news is that there are some great products out there to help eliminate and firm up cellulite areas.

ASAP REVITALISING BODYSCRUB 200mMy personal favourite is the asap cellulite + skin firming treatment.

This is a gentle treatment which increases the skin’s microcirculation and helps to metabolise toxins and lipids.

A bit technical I know, but this will assist with firming the skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite.

When lipids are broken down, the fat cells are reduced, resulting in firmer skin.

Stretch marks are reduced and skin is better hydrated and elasticity is improved.

To make the firming treatment more effective, start with asap revitalising bodyscrub. By cleansing with this in a warm shower prior to using asap cellulite skin firming treatment, you will be allowing the treatment to penetrate further and be more effective.

The asap revitalising bodyscrub will assist with the removal of dead skin cells, soothes,  heals and stimulates the skin.
